Destiny Iwuoma is a graduate of the #1 Public University in the world (UC Berkeley) where he created his own major, American Studies: Race, Education and Public Policy

 

-He is passionate about closing the opportunity gap for People of Color and creating equitable access to education for all

 

-He was a Senator for the ASUC where he worked with a coalition of student leaders across the state of CA on a campaign called IGNITE (Invest In Graduation, Not Incarceration. Transform Education.)

 

-He is excited about coalition building with communities affected by the School to Prison Pipeline and Prison Industrial Complex

Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) Senator

​2013 - 2014

 

Represented 37,000 UC Berkeley students as one of twenty students democratically elected to serve in the ASUC as the number 1 vote getter of the entire University

Granted student organizations financial access to the $1.7 million budget of the

organization

Recruited and developed a six-person staff that regularly updated my constituencies on campus climate and safety

issues

 

East Bay Consortium of Educational Institutions College Advisor

Provided 20 High School Seniors in Oakland Public schools with academic counseling, college application preparation, and weekly one-on-one meetings.
